MSSA TESTIMONIALS

All I could think after I had completed my 18-week MSSA was I still needed "real world" experience to compound into my now growing knowledge in the Tech industry. I was losing a guaranteed paycheck, benefits, and venturing into the unknown. Still, PGTEK answered the call and offered me an opportunity to expand upon my MSSA knowledge by joining their academy program. During my time in the PGTEK academy, I worked with so many intelligent people who helped train and mentor me and were always there if I was in a bind. It's a teamwork mentality here, and I feel fortunate to have been granted an opportunity to be a part of the PGTEK team.

“I went through the MSSA program back in 2018 out of Fort Campbell as I transitioned out of the Army. I spent 5 ½ years in the infantry and was ready to do something new. I had always had an interest in IT and thought the MSSA was a great opportunity to get some experience in order to get my foot in the door in the IT field of work. I had such a great time while in the program from the in-class learning, to the on site visits we would get to do in companies around Nashville. I knew this was the field I wanted to get into and started sending out my resume to try and find an IT job. We really enjoyed all the opportunities that this program offered, and we were prepared and excited to take what we learned into the “real world.” A few days before graduation from the program, my wife and I welcomed our son into this world. My ETS date was October 29th. Our son was born November 6th and we graduated from the MSSA on November 9th. So, it got a little hectic quick after graduation.  We packed up our house and moved up to Ohio where I was originally from, and I continued my job hunt. I was lucky enough to get an email from PGTEK to see if I was still currently looking for a job and I was ecstatic! One of my Army buddies had been working with PGTEK for about a year at this point and he would always tell us how awesome it was to work there. I jumped at this great opportunity to join a newly established team at PGTEK delivering HPE Synergy. I now have been with the company for a little over 3 years and have learned so much and am still learning something new each and every day. The MSSA program helped me to be able to transition from an infantry soldier with little to no IT experience, into an IT Professional with enough experience to put on my resume to get my foot in the door in the IT profession. PGTEK was willing to take a chance on myself and 5 other people from my class and we have been enjoying every opportunity that we have had with this company ever since. I have had the opportunity to complete installs in so many great places from Miami, Florida to the country of Guam. I have had nothing but great opportunities and experiences at PGTEK. One of the best work environments I have ever seen!”

MSSA was a fantastic experience and had a significant impact on how my life has ended up. It was a fire hydrant of knowledge, but it prepared me for the world of IT. It prepared me to thrive in a fast-paced environment, absorbing copious amounts of information and projecting it towards our customers. A huge thing I got out of MSSA was learning how to communicate and speak outside of the military. The MSSA helped me build my communication skills by talking with customers daily, sending emails, and interviewing. The MSSA did an excellent job of transitioning me from the military into the civilian world.MSSA opened so many doors for me and the biggest one being PGTEK. PGTEK can thirst my need for learning and continue pushing me to better my career while giving me a well-balanced work-life schedule. PGTEK has been able to support me through my civilian life with immense support and mentoring. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the MSSA or PGTEK.
